About the position

The Network/Systems Administrator will provide operational support for the Executive Office of the U.S. Attorneys, focusing on the management and monitoring of critical IT infrastructure in a Network Operations Center environment. This role requires availability for 24/7 shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and is based on-site in Columbia, SC. The position offers a growth opportunity for individuals eager to work with experienced network technology professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor critical IT infrastructure in a Network Operations Center environment 24/7.
  • Perform primary steady-state administration and monitoring of enterprise management systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues, correct problems, and install system security patches.
  • Manage hardware and software upgrades, data storage, and data retrieval.
  • Create, modify, and verify backup jobs, ensuring data replication and system optimizations.
  • Support steady-state, enterprise-wide SCCM deployments and monitor compliance with enterprise-wide standards.
  • Manage Active Directory components, including DNS, Organizational Units, and GPOs.
  • Provide secondary administration support, including hardware installations and equipment relocations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in computer science or related IT field, or relevant industry certification (COMPTIA A+), or 2 years of experience in Windows Active Directory and IT hardware support, or 2 years of IT Help Desk support experience in a Windows Active Directory environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of SolarWinds application, networks, servers, and desktop applications.
  • Ability to multitask while monitoring and resolving issues via phone calls and emails.
  • Knowledge and experience in supporting steady-state systems Backup, Restore, and Recovery procedures.
  • Technical proficiency in enterprise management applications and tools such as HP SIM, SolarWinds, CommVault, vCenter, and others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with enterprise-level server software including the latest Microsoft Server technologies.
  • Knowledge of monitoring systems for potential problems and resolving issues promptly.
