About the position

The Systems Administrator - Lead (LINUX) position at ASRC involves overseeing the management and administration of Linux/Red Hat systems within a complex network environment at the Pentagon. The role requires strong leadership and technical skills to ensure the security and efficiency of IT operations, while also providing innovative solutions in a dynamic team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and fine-tune Linux/Red Hat (RHEL) operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving operating systems, applications, databases, email systems, and data interfaces.
  • Manage Linux/RHEL systems within a complex, multi-layered network environment.
  • Apply knowledge of current Information Assurance (IA) and IT Security control implementation procedures.
  • Monitor for security incidents, including intrusion and penetration detection, and provide alert notifications.
  • Possess knowledge with Storage Area Networks (SAN), as well as enterprise backup solutions and fault-tolerant technologies.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years in Information Technology.
  • At least the last three (3) years specifically in Linux/RedHat (RHEL) System Administration.
  • Experience with LINUX/RedHat administration for the US Army and on Command and Control (C2) systems is desired.
  • Top-Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Must hold IAT Level III or IAM Level II certification in accordance with DoDD 8140.01/DoDI 8570.01-M.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or Electronics.
