About the position

TSC is seeking a full-time, on-site System Administrator (SA) to manage multiple Information Systems (IS) in accordance with DoD/Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies. The position will require the system administrator to support existing ISs and to assist in the development and accreditation of new ISs. This position is ideal for a passionate IT professional who wants to support an engineering team working on cutting-edge model, simulation, and other technologies supporting critical US Government missions. The Radar Signal Processing and Simulation operations at the Silver Spring location perform design, development, and analytic evaluations of system performance as well as systems engineering for sophisticated radar, communications, and weapons systems. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain computer information systems utilizing Linux operating systems
  • Communicate with IS Owners (ISO) to ensure systems meet their needs
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of security documentation
  • Harden systems to meet DoD security policies
  • Perform system maintenance, updates, and backups
  • Coordinate with government security assessors and other representatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor of science or a related field plus a minimum of 5 years systems administrator experience with 3 or more years of Linux network administration
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD top security clearance
  • IAT Level 2 (per DoD 8570.01M)

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Network Configurations and architecture
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both hardware and software
  • Knowledgeable of the Risk Management Framework and DoD 8510.01
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a small team environment
  • Experience maintaining classified systems
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Experience building server environments
  • COMSEC experience
