About the position

The Systems Administrator - Linux role at Peraton involves managing and maintaining Linux systems within the NiFi project team. The position focuses on deploying Linux systems, performing system patching and upgrades, and ensuring software installation and configuration. The administrator will also be responsible for monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and creating necessary documentation to support system operations.

• Creating POA&M's as necessary

Requirements

• Five (5) years experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university (or five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree)
• Minimum 2 years of Linux Systems Administration experience administering user accounts, performing server subsystem configuration, network management, installation of software, performing backups, configuration management, and general system maintenance
• DOD 8570 Required
• TS/SCI with polygraph
• IAVAs STE/STN and system patching
• Experience with Elastic Search functionality
• Knowledge of Network Protocols
• Experienced providing customer support
• Understanding of fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts, Linux desktop systems, performance tuning and capacity planning of servers (hardware and software levels)
• Ability to write Shell and SALT scripts
• Write and maintain system technical documentation
• A self-starter who can work closely with the team, but require little oversight in completing required SA tasks
