About the position

The Systems Administrator (Linux) position at BAE Systems involves providing Operations and Sustainment (O&S) support for Linux operating systems across multiple servers within the Enterprise. The role is crucial for maintaining the security and availability of mission-essential systems, requiring collaboration with other technical teams and a focus on operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Support the security hardening of applications and services deployed on all assigned systems
• Monitor systems and services for availability and support troubleshooting to return to operational state
• Work closely with other System Administrators, Software and Systems Engineers to maintain the backbone for many mission essential systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and two years of work experience or equivalent
• RedHat Enterprise Linux or similar Linux OS knowledge
• At a minimum, must possess a Security certification
• Ability to work independently or with a team (as needed)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of Apache, JBoss, Docker and PostgreSQL
• Understanding of Geospatial Data
