About the position

The Systems Administrator role is crucial for maintaining and optimizing the IT infrastructure of the organization. This position focuses on overseeing server environments, ensuring system reliability, and providing support to users. The Systems Administrator will collaborate with IT teams to guarantee maximum uptime and productivity, while also implementing security protocols and managing cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee server configurations, performance, and security on both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Implement and manage security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus, patch management, and access controls.
  • Manage virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to protect data integrity and ensure business continuity.
  • Act as a resource for technical issues escalated from the helpdesk, providing expert support to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, operational processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Use monitoring tools to track system performance, uptime, and usage.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux servers, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of system security best practices, firewall management, antivirus, and access controls.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with backup tools and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving system issues quickly and effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional).
