About the position

As a Systems Administrator at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the organization's computer systems, ensuring their reliable operation and security. This position involves supporting intelligence customers, particularly in Fort Belvoir, VA, and requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance. You will be responsible for both on-site and remote support, managing desktop and server systems, and providing Tier 2/3 support for Unix and Windows environments. Your work will directly contribute to improving operational efficiency and security for critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage computer systems' workflows and ensure reliable operation.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Unix/Windows workstations and servers.
• Coordinate site visits and upgrades for on-site and remote users.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
• Install and configure operating systems and application software.
• Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of data center equipment.
• Collaborate on backup and recovery plans and ensure systems are secure to STIG guidelines.
• Monitor and manage system infrastructure and processes related to IT systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire.
• TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly.
• Experience in UNIX, Windows, and/or Storage administration.
• Ability to respond to after-hour calls and provide on-call support.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the imagery intelligence domain.
• Ability to create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines on Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems.
• General knowledge of database administration and network configuration management skills.
