About the position

As a Systems Administrator at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the organization's computer systems. This position involves ensuring the reliable operation of both desktop and server systems, providing technical support, and troubleshooting issues for users. You will work closely with both on-site and remote users, supporting the intelligence community at Wright Patterson AFB, OH, and contributing to the overall efficiency and security of IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage computer systems' workflows, ensuring reliable operation and configuration.
  • Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for Unix/Windows workstations and servers.
  • Coordinate site visits and upgrades, providing on-site and remote resolution support for trouble calls.
  • Install and configure operating systems and application software using deployment tools like PowerShell and SCCM.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, ensuring system integrity and performance.
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of data center equipment and manage backup and recovery plans.
  • Ensure systems comply with security guidelines and perform regular reviews and updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire.
  • TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly.
  • Experience in UNIX, Windows, and/or Storage administration.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience with MS Office products, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to respond to after-hour calls and provide on-call support.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the imagery intelligence domain.
  • Ability to create and modify scripts in Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems.
  • General knowledge of database administration and network configuration management skills.
