About the position

As a Systems Administrator at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the computer systems that support our intelligence customers. This position involves ensuring the reliable operation of desktop and server systems, providing technical support, and troubleshooting issues to improve operational efficiency. You will work closely with both on-site and remote users, coordinating site visits and upgrades, and providing tiered support for various systems. Your contributions will help ensure that our technology is secure and effective, ultimately supporting the mission of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.
  • Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for Unix/Windows workstations and servers.
  • Coordinate site visits and upgrades for on-site and remote users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
  • Install and configure operating systems and application software using deployment tools.
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of assigned data center equipment.
  • Collaborate on the development and testing of backup and recovery plans.
  • Ensure systems are secure to STIG guidelines and security patches.
  • Create and manage procedures for maintaining linked databases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire.
  • TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly.
  • Experience with UNIX, Windows, and/or Storage administration.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience with MS Office products.
  • Ability to respond to after-hour calls and provide on-call support.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the imagery intelligence domain.
  • Ability to create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines on Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems.
  • General knowledge of database administration and network configuration management skills.
