About the position

The Systems Administrator at Hidden Level is responsible for creating and maintaining a secure and functional environment for the company's innovative drone detection technology. This role involves managing computer systems, servers, and networks while collaborating with a dedicated team to enhance airspace safety. The position is based in Syracuse, NY, with options for hybrid work.

Responsibilities

  • Take administrative responsibility for the configuration, maintenance, and operation of computer systems and servers.
  • Support a computer and server configuration and management solution and develop associated processes.
  • Configure, install, and manage desktop and laptop computers, servers, networks, firewalls and other critical components.
  • Assist with the appropriate group policies to manage access, system updates, anti-virus, and threat management solutions.
  • Administer Mobile Device Management and Mobile Application Management solutions that manage company assets.
  • Deploy and administer both physical and cloud managed servers and firewalls.
  • Develop and maintain a secure and efficient network supporting physical and cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate and work with all members of the company to find solutions that meet the needs of everyone.
  • Assist the IT Security Manager with developing Information Technology policies and procedures to enable all aspects of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related major preferred, certifications related to computers, networking or security preferred.
  • 2-5 years related professional experience including hands-on system administration and network administration experience.
  • Knowledge of IT best practices, industry standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Experience with Apple, Windows Desktop and Server operating systems.
  • An understanding of Linux Operating systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, including Security, Compliance and Exchange.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, networking and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and understanding of other programming languages.
  • Experience in networking, both supporting physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with or the drive to learn certification programs such as SOC-2, and similar.
  • Knowledge of US export regulations.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based servers and solutions and their security strengths and weaknesses.
  • Understanding of NIST and CMMC Compliance.
