About the position

GDIT is seeking a functional Systems Administrator (FSA) to support intelligence training programs, applications, and operations at Goodfellow AFB, TX. The FSA will serve as the focal point for intelligence training applications, responding to user requests for assistance and providing support to customers regarding hardware and software malfunctions. This role involves identifying and resolving common problems, questions, or situations that arise in the course of operations. The FSA will also provide training to instructors and other FSAs on intelligence applications, specialized computer software, and operating systems. In addition to user support, the FSA will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and installing software applications and hardware peripherals across various platforms including Windows, Unix, and Linux. The role requires the development and maintenance of system administration standard operating procedures, technical guides, and instructions. The FSA will also support the use of computer-based training products such as computer-assisted instruction (CAI), interactive courseware (ICW), interactive multimedia instruction (IMI), and learning management systems (LMS). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of on-the-job Information Technology (IT) experience, including specialized work on complex IT systems. Experience with intelligence applications such as the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS), Geospatial Product Library (GPL), and others is essential. The FSA will also need to have experience in designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining virtual environments, particularly with Dell VxRail Hyper-Converged Infrastructure and Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop baselines. A TS/SCI Security Clearance and DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security Plus) are required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point for intelligence training applications.
  • Respond to user requests for assistance and provide support regarding hardware and software malfunctions.
  • Identify and resolve common problems, questions, or situations.
  • Provide training to instructors and other FSAs on intelligence applications and specialized software.
  • Plan, coordinate, and install software applications and hardware peripherals on Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms.
  • Develop and maintain system administration standard operating procedures, technical guides, and instructions.
  • Support the use of computer-based training products, including CAI, ICW, IMI, and LMS.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of on-the-job Information Technology (IT) experience.
  • Five (5) years' experience with a minimum of three (3) intelligence applications such as JMPS, GPL, ARCGIS, and others.
  • One (1) year experience in designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining Dell VxRail Hyper-Converged Infrastructure.
  • Experience in creating, designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop baselines.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining security guidance for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance required.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security Plus) required.
