The Clinical Information Systems Analyst is a pivotal role within Beaufort Memorial Hospital, responsible for the organization and direction of both the implementation and ongoing support of clinical information systems. This includes systems such as Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Order Communications. The Clinical Analyst collaborates closely with various clinical departments to ensure the optimal use of these systems, which encompasses all aspects of planning, troubleshooting, testing, training, and a comprehensive understanding of the MEDITECH modules and other hospital software. A key aspect of this role is the necessity for the Clinical Analyst to possess a thorough knowledge of all hospital systems and their interrelations. This knowledge is crucial for effective communication and project management, as the position requires the ability to lead teams and oversee all facets of implementation and upgrade projects. The Clinical Analyst acts as a consultant to hospital staff, guiding them in utilizing the systems effectively to enhance productivity and improve patient care outcomes. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves liaising with various stakeholders to ensure that the clinical information systems meet the needs of the hospital and its staff.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and direct the implementation of new clinical information systems.
  • Support existing clinical information systems including Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Order Communications.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments for optimal use of supported systems.
  • Plan, troubleshoot, test, and train staff on the use of clinical information systems.
  • Understand and manage the MEDITECH modules and other hospital software.
  • Lead implementation and upgrade projects as a team leader.
  • Consult with hospital staff to maximize productivity through effective system utilization.
