About the position

lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company that focuses on creating transformational products and experiences for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. The Distribution and Fulfillment Technology team plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement initiatives across third-party logistics (3PL) and distribution systems. This position is centered around the Warehouse Management System (WMS), which is essential for managing user activities and hardware automation within lululemon's warehouses. The individual in this role will be part of a team that supports the second largest labor force in the company, focusing on stabilizing warehouse operations and enhancing operational efficiency while eliminating defects. A typical day in this role involves extensive collaboration with multiple teams to swiftly resolve critical warehouse issues. The individual will participate in daily standup meetings to triage incidents based on ITIL best practices, conduct impact analyses, and coordinate root cause analysis (RCA) efforts using an agile, cross-functional approach. The role requires performing iterative analyses to reproduce bugs, logging them in Jira, and identifying both temporary workarounds and permanent fixes following defined software development life cycle (SDLC) processes. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring all stakeholders are updated through status calls and will drive consensus while being open to feedback to improve technical solutions and response processes. An agile approach will be taken to develop, test, and implement solutions iteratively in collaboration with development teams and vendors, and participation in retrospectives to gather lessons learned and improvement ideas is also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate extensively across multiple teams to drive rapid resolution of critical warehouse issues.
  • Participate in daily standup meetings to triage incidents based on ITIL best practices.
  • Conduct impact analysis and assignment following pre-defined major incident response protocols.
  • Coordinate root cause analysis efforts leveraging an agile, cross-functional swarm team approach with warehouse operations, other technology teams, and vendors.
  • Perform iterative analysis to reproduce bugs, log them in Jira, and identify temporary workarounds and permanent bug fixes following defined SDLC processes.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are updated through status calls as per the communication plan.
  • Drive consensus while listening to feedback from peers to improve technical solutions and response processes.
  • Take an agile approach to develop, test, and implement solutions iteratively in alignment with development teams and vendors.
  • Participate in retrospectives to gather lessons learned and improvement ideas.

Requirements

  • Preferred Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field from an accredited U.S. university or foreign equivalent.
  • A combination of education with 5 years of experience with WMS, WES, WCS, and MHE across development and support roles.
  • Proven experience in professional software development roles.
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills in Java and familiarity with Angular and JSON.
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and RESTful APIs.
  • Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns (e.g., declarative).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and distributed version control.
  • Working knowledge of Jira or similar issue/project tracking tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and debugging abilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and orally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS EC2 and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Knowledge of microservices, containerization, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, AI, cybersecurity, or other emerging technologies.
