About the position

The City of Thornton is seeking a Systems Analyst I or II to support multiple complex applications for diverse internal customers. This role involves systems analysis, support, configuration, and some IT project management. The successful candidate will collaborate with various city teams and third-party vendors to ensure the functionality of vital services for city employees. The position is hybrid, requiring on-site work at least some days each week, and the salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems analysis, support, and configuration for complex applications.
• Collaborate with Network Services, Technical Services, and Cybersecurity teams.
• Manage IT projects, including documentation, task assignment, and progress reporting.
• Develop and deliver employee training on software applications.
• Diagnose and remedy system or programming problems, providing alternatives as needed.
• Interact with users, vendors, and contractors to select appropriate software and equipment.
• Conduct research, testing, and evaluation of equipment and application products.
• Monitor system performance and identify issues for resolution.
• Perform database backup, recovery, and support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3 years of moderate to complex experience in IT project management, system support, development, and/or database administration for Systems Analyst I.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience for Systems Analyst II.
• Knowledge of computer programming and systems analysis principles.
• Experience with SQL and database management.
