About the position

The Systems Analyst I position at the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff's Office is responsible for ensuring the performance obligations of in-house computing systems are met. This role involves gathering and analyzing data to support systems performance, managing hardware and software usage, configuring and deploying end-user devices, responding to service desk calls, and training users. The position requires collaboration with various departments and may involve after-hours work on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic systems analyses of manual and automated systems.
• Monitor and ensure systems meet business and performance needs.
• Perform system configurations, installations, and modifications to existing software.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, network, and related technology problems.
• Train users on new hardware devices and software.
• Develop user documentation.
• Maintain security access to computer system information and review system/database tools for functionality, status, and applicability.
• Provide on-call support services as assigned.
• Act as liaison between Information Technology, Athens-Clarke Police, and the Sheriff's Office for technology support.
• Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• One year of experience in a multi-user environment in areas such as Database Administration, Network Management, or Desktop Management.
• Valid driver's license.
• Criminal fingerprint background check eligibility for access to sensitive public safety information.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and mobile operating systems (Android/Apple iOS, Windows).
• Experience with Business Intelligence applications (SSRS, Crystal Reports, Cognos).
• Familiarity with project management principles and virtual environments.
