Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) has an exciting Systems Analyst II opportunity available within our Information Technology - Member Channels & Applications group! In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, testing, and implementing IT system solutions that enhance business efficiency and productivity while supporting the organization's strategic goals. You will identify and communicate business needs, translating them into technical system and functional specifications. This position supports one or more moderately to highly complex business processes and systems across multiple business units, making you a key project team member for medium to large-scale projects with high complexity. Your responsibilities will include participating in business short-term planning sessions to ensure a clear understanding of business goals and requirements, providing valuable input from an IT systems perspective. You will also be involved in estimating costs for new systems or enhancements for the systems you are assigned to. Acting as a liaison between the business area and the IT organization, you will coordinate with project managers and vendors to deliver technical solutions that meet user needs. You will translate business requirements into technical requirements, formulate and define system scope and objectives based on user needs, and develop, write, and communicate systems design and functional specifications. Additionally, you will analyze customer systems and capabilities to identify strengths and weaknesses, develop user and system test cases, and validate test results during testing. Documenting system modifications, creating system manuals, and developing training materials will also be part of your duties. You will identify, investigate, resolve, and escalate problems as necessary, gathering data to support recommendations for addressing issues. Working closely with developers and end users, you will ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction. You will also provide input for the development of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and review performance against these SLAs, identifying areas for improvement. As a mentor, you will coach and guide less experienced team members, contributing to their professional development.
