About the position

The Systems Analyst II position is a remote contract role focused on supporting the migration of an integrated resident information system to a new SaaS solution. The role involves analyzing user requirements, designing workflows, and ensuring data integrity throughout the migration process. The analyst will engage with stakeholders, document processes, and provide training and support post-migration.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing computer systems.
  • Support the migration efforts of the integrated resident information system, including planning, data assessment, cleansing, and mapping.
  • Design and implement workflows that integrate with the existing system, ensuring a seamless transition and optimal functionality of the new system.
  • Document all phases of the migration process and engage with clinical and IT stakeholders for requirements gathering.
  • Ensure design compliance with client standards, including setting up validation and auditing processes to maintain data integrity post-migration.
  • Perform necessary testing of the migration process, including creating and executing Unit test scripts and managing test scenarios.
  • Provide regular updates on migration progress to project stakeholders and prepare presentations to explain the migration process and system functionality.
  • Facilitate the smooth transition to the new system by providing strategic oversight and support post-migration, including training end-users and preparing system documentation.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in database management systems and data migration, with emphasis on healthcare EHR systems, particularly Cerner Millennium.
  • 7 years of experience in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar database scripting.
  • 7 years of experience in business analysis, including reviewing and analyzing user requirements and operational procedures.
  • 7 years of experience in documenting business process flows and standardizing process flow improvements.
  • 7 years of experience in preparing specifications for data input/output processes.
  • 7 years of experience in resolving complex data-related issues using analytical skills and logical problem-solving approaches.
  • 7 years of experience in exceptional oral and written communication skills for project documentation and stakeholder engagement.
  • 7 years of experience in solid interpersonal abilities to support diverse teams and inspire productivity.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of prior experience with SaaS model EHR systems and cloud data migrations.
  • 2 years of experience with the client's Project Delivery Framework and document templates.
  • 2 years of familiarity with existing and planned software technology and software architecture components.
  • 2 years of experience in regulatory compliance and data security related to healthcare data.
