About the position

The Systems Analyst III position at UNM Hospitals is a senior application analyst role focused on the management and configuration of large enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting and working independently, as well as collaborating with application vendors. This role involves systems development, maintenance, project planning, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the analysis of data gathering and propose recommendations for application system enhancements.
  • Coordinate all new system installs and upgrades from a systems perspective.
  • Collaborate on the training of IT and hospital personnel in new applications and system changes.
  • Maintain knowledge of all hospital information, software, hardware, and operating systems.
  • Design and implement information, software, hardware, and operating systems.
  • Prepare and approve policies and standards for system configuration.
  • Implement software on new and existing systems for departmental use.
  • Direct configuration and implementation of server and client-side applications.
  • Perform and coordinate the installation of application upgrades.
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical personnel to understand user needs and recommend solutions.
  • Provide support, maintenance, and administration for assigned IT projects.
  • Head small to medium-sized project teams, coordinating progress from start to completion.
  • Conduct the development and maintenance of functional operating manuals and contingency plans.
  • Assist Systems Analysts in preparing and implementing system analyses on existing hospital systems.
  • Research and test leading-edge systems technologies.
  • Oversee hardware and software standardization efforts as assigned.
  • Communicate on systems issues to understand and respond to user needs.
  • Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs and workshops.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT Related Discipline (Master's Degree preferred).
  • 5 years of directly related experience.
