About the position

The Systems Analyst III position at Scientific Research Corporation involves providing essential information technology services to support the deployment and sustainment of a prototype Electronic Security System (ESS). This system is designed to be installed in government facilities and managed in the cloud, with additional hardware located in a separate facility for redundancy. The role requires collaboration with engineering, networking, and cybersecurity teams to integrate multiple subsystem components into a cohesive and fully functional system that meets specified requirements. In this role, the Systems Analyst will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the ESS, from concept through deployment and ongoing maintenance. This includes hands-on experience with hardware and software services, ensuring that the system operates efficiently and securely. The analyst will apply complex technical and analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and ensure that the system adheres to government standards and protocols. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be expected to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in the field of information technology, particularly as they relate to security systems and cloud management. Additionally, the role may involve creating documentation, such as user and administrator guides, to support the deployment and use of the ESS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information technology services for the deployment and sustainment of the Electronic Security System (ESS).
  • Collaborate with engineering, networking, and cybersecurity teams to integrate subsystem components into a unified system.
  • Configure and build servers and clients for the ESS.
  • Install and configure Microsoft Active Directory and Windows 11 Professional.
  • Manage TCP/IP configurations and create virtual machines.
  • Install and test cybersecurity updates to ensure system security.
  • Utilize containerization and microservices in system design.
  • Develop and customize software using vendor-provided Software Development Kits (SDK).
  • Write functional code and scripts in various programming languages including Python, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C++, and PowerShell.
  • Manage SQL/Databases and create user and administrator guides.
  • Conduct research, development, testing, and evaluation of system components.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in information technology-related hardware and software services.
  • Experience in server and client build-out and configuration.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory installation and configuration.
  • Proficiency in installing and configuring Microsoft Windows 11 Professional.
  • Experience with TCP/IP configuration and virtual machine management.
  • Ability to install and test cybersecurity updates.
  • Familiarity with containerization and microservices.
  • Experience with Application Programming Interfaces (API).
  • Proficient in using SDKs to customize software solutions.
  • Ability to create functional code and scripts in Python, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C++, and PowerShell.
  • Experience with SQL/Databases and documentation creation.
