About the position

The Systems Analyst position at the Personnel Board of Jefferson County is a full-time role focused on developing detailed specifications for computer software and monitoring software performance. This technical position requires a deep understanding of computer hardware and software, as well as the ability to analyze information processing problems and create effective solutions. The Systems Analyst will coordinate resources to meet end-user needs and serve as a project manager for various system or application designs, implementations, updates, and integrations, while also providing support and mentorship to technical personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and monitor system applications, programs, and databases by reviewing computer codes and scripts to enhance performance and usability.
  • Design, develop, and modify system applications and databases by writing and editing code based on user requirements.
  • Create and update system documentation and user guides for applications to assist users effectively.
  • Assist programmers and analysts in reviewing work, answering technical questions, and resolving issues.
  • Serve as project manager for system or application designs and implementations, leading technical personnel to ensure project success.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Provide user support for system and application updates and manage user access rights.

Requirements

  • Experience with .NET programming (C#, Visual Basic) for creating web and client applications.
  • Experience with SQL Server databases and T-SQL for creating queries and stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of application development tools such as MS Visual Studio, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming methods and database construction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management experience in full life cycle development (SDLC, SCRUM, AGILE).
  • Experience with mobile application development.
