About the position

The Systems Analyst/Programmer I is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications within the Environmental Quality department. This role involves supporting department staff to enhance daily processing and user understanding of application software, managing environmental databases, and preparing water quality reports as required by regulations.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, design, maintain, support, and upgrade software applications to ensure compliance with organizational processes and regulations.
• Maintain system application guidelines, schedules, and data structures.
• Research, plan, develop, test, and implement external interfaces between existing and new system applications for seamless integration.
• Analyze, plan, test, and implement system application upgrades and new releases as required by software vendors and company regulations.
• Support the user community in resolving problems with software application functionality.
• Develop and maintain documentation of applications and provide training for department users.
• Create reports, analyze data, and review reports for validity and correctness.
• Research and correct problems with system applications during production processing.
• Develop and maintain the department's internal web page.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in management science, engineering management, finance, computer science, or related field.
• 1 to 3 years of experience supporting applications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of computer programming and systems analysis techniques.
• Desirable programming experience in Python, R, SQL, or other programming languages.
