About the position

The Systems Analyst Specialist will play a crucial role in the analysis and development of data systems, focusing on Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Data Science projects. This position requires a highly skilled individual who can operate independently on complex projects, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise across all phases of application systems analysis activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating or defining system scope and objectives based on user needs, ensuring that the solutions developed align with the operational capabilities and desired outcomes of the organization. In this role, the Systems Analyst will collaborate with multiple business units in multi-platform environments, managing various project assignments simultaneously. The individual will guide and advise less experienced Systems Analysts, fostering a collaborative and educational environment. Key responsibilities include assisting in the planning, design, and development of new analytical and data science applications, as well as enhancing existing applications to meet evolving business requirements. The Systems Analyst will meet with decision-makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, identifying and resolving any business systems issues that arise. The role also involves creating systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide clear direction to system programmers. Additionally, the analyst will coordinate and perform in-depth testing, including end-user reviews, for both modified and new systems, ensuring that all solutions are effective and user-friendly. Training and orientation for end users on new and modified systems will also be a key part of this position, along with the documentation of standards and procedures for various analytic platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Operate independently on the most complex projects at the highest technical level of all phases of application systems analysis activities.
  • Formulate or define system scope and objectives based on user needs.
  • Develop or refine procedures to address complex challenges, considering IT systems limitations and operational timeframes.
  • Work with multiple business units in multi-platform environments on multi-project assignments.
  • Guide and advise less experienced Systems Analysts.
  • Assist in the planning, design, and development of new analytical and data science applications, as well as enhancements to existing applications.
  • Meet with decision-makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
  • Create and deliver effective presentations to all levels of colleagues and peer groups.
  • Document standards and procedures for various analytic platforms.
  • Develop test cases and validate test results.
  • Coach and transfer knowledge to less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years as a systems analyst in Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Data Science projects.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in SQL, with expertise in crafting complex SQL queries.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience designing DataMart's, with a focus on Dimensional Modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document projects and processes effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and implement solutions with minimal guidance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the design and development of Power BI dashboards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Power Apps is advantageous.
