About the position

The Systems Analyst in the Student Financial Services (SFS) department plays a crucial role in supporting operational processes, analysis, and troubleshooting. This position is responsible for preparing comprehensive documentation that encompasses both business and technical aspects, as well as the processes and procedures necessary for the effective maintenance of systems that support SFS. The Systems Analyst will develop specifications and requirements for system configuration, conduct testing of new applications, upgrades, or new functionalities, and provide feedback and documentation of results. Additionally, the role involves performing analyses of system setups and processes, as well as conducting system and end-user testing to ensure accuracy and data integrity. In this service-oriented position, the Systems Analyst will consult with management on complex technical issues, new technologies, and campus and department technical initiatives. The role also includes providing system training to SFS end-users, ensuring they are well-equipped to utilize the systems effectively. Building rapport with both internal and external customers is essential, as the Systems Analyst will be a key point of contact for technical support and guidance. This full-time, exempt position is designed to lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period. The anticipated hiring salary range is between $6,500 and $8,426 per month, with a broader CSU classification salary range of $5,158 to $12,730 per month. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in systems analysis and support, particularly in financial services or higher education.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to prepare documentation and train users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
