About the position

The Systems Analyst role involves analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into functional system designs. The position requires a strong understanding of technology and systems, particularly within the banking or financial services industry, to recommend solutions and support system production issues. The analyst will prepare documentation, engage with stakeholders, and apply advanced data analysis skills to enhance system functionality and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and translate complex business requirements into functional system design documents.
  • Conduct technology and system-related analysis to recommend solutions based on current applications and data structures.
  • Provide support for system production issues, change requests, and maintenance, including documentation.
  • Prepare and present subject matter knowledge and analysis to internal and external audiences.
  • Apply advanced data analysis skills to understand detailed data flows within system domains.
  • Prepare system configuration specification documents.
  • Understand client needs and recommend enhancements to release tracks.
  • Assist in developing and executing test scripts with the testing team.
  • Convert application designs into data mapping specifications and data models as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive prior experience as a systems analyst with systems and application management.
  • Experience in the information technology domain within banking or financial services.
  • Proficiency in Systems Integration (batch, API).
  • Strong data analysis and mapping skills with the ability to extract insights and patterns.
  • Ability to quickly build domain expertise across multiple platforms/applications.
  • Proficiency in engaging and leading tasks to completion, showing ownership and collaboration with partners.
  • Understanding of QA processes and experience with QA teams to define test strategies and defect resolution.
  • Experience with Jira software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to execute and prioritize multiple tasks and conduct meetings with cross-dependent teams and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and support.
  • High attention to detail and proactive approach.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, customers, and clients.
  • Confidence in face-to-face interactions with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand data flow and application interfaces, including upstream/downstream processes.
  • Previous experience working in an agile environment.
