About the position

The Systems Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting multiple IT projects within the Customer Service Technology Portfolio, with a primary focus on the company's website. This position is based in Rosemead, California, and operates on a hybrid model, requiring on-site presence two times a week, with Wednesdays being mandatory. The role is structured to provide comprehensive support to the project management team, ensuring that all project deliverables are met efficiently and effectively. The Systems Analyst will be responsible for producing key project artifacts, including requirements, user stories, and design documentation, while also managing project controls such as document versions and scope change requests. The successful candidate will utilize various company-standard tools, including SharePoint, UMT360, and Octane, to capture, monitor, and drive closure on action items, risks, and issues throughout the project lifecycle. In addition to analysis support, the Systems Analyst will assist the Delivery Manager in generating status updates for various project workstreams and maintaining project data in standard documentation tools. The role also involves collaboration with testing leads to produce and maintain testing deliverables, including UAT test plans, test scenarios, and test cases. The Systems Analyst will coordinate project meetings, facilitate discussions, and ensure that all documentation is collected and signed off in a timely manner. This position requires a proactive approach to project management and a strong ability to work with diverse teams, including IT and business resources, as well as offshore vendor resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to organize and schedule meetings effectively, capturing accurate notes on behalf of the project manager.

Responsibilities

  • Work with functional business and technical leads to produce work papers, key deliverables, and project artifacts such as requirements, user stories, and design documentation.
  • Provide project controls for managing document versions, scope change requests, and other project-related documentation using company standard tools.
  • Capture, monitor, and drive closure on action items, risks, issues, and decisions, recording and tracking items in logs including aging and escalations as needed.
  • Support the Delivery Manager in collecting and generating status updates for various project workstreams.
  • Maintain project data in the company's standard project documentation tools, UMT360 and Octane.
  • Collaborate with testing leads to produce and maintain relevant testing deliverables, including UAT test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
  • Coordinate and support test execution, including scheduling of resources and daily test plan execution, and provide daily status of test execution against the plan.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document project meetings, including distribution of meeting notes and coordination of documentation collection and sign-off.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • 5-7 years of experience working with IT project management or projects.
  • Experience in project management support, including schedule updates using Microsoft Project, SharePoint management, and maintenance of Risks/Issues logs.
  • Proficiency in user story documentation and management using tools such as Jira or Octane.
  • Experience in maintaining testing artifacts, including plans, scripts, test data/cases, and results.
  • Support for financial forecasts or budgets on IT projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years working on Agile/Scrum projects required.
  • 3+ years working for Electric Utility or related industries desired.
