About the position

The Systems and Site Security Engineering Manager at Decision Technologies Inc. is responsible for overseeing security processes for Navy-related programs and projects, particularly in support of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific. This role involves leading security engineering efforts, managing local security processes, and contributing to the cybersecurity engineering of next-generation Naval information systems and tactical networks. The position requires a strong background in engineering services for the Navy and/or larger DoD, with a focus on digital transformation and model-based systems engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Review, assess, and provide advice in the development of security processes for Navy-related programs and projects.
  • Serve as site lead for the San Diego facility, monitoring local security processes and overseeing technology and infrastructure installation.
  • Conduct research analysis of missions, tactics, equipment, interfaces, and resource allocations to new and developing systems and programs.
  • Provide security engineering support in analyzing and/or projecting the performance of DoD systems, facilities, and networks.
  • Develop deliverables related to tools, standards, and processes for Cybersecurity.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity System and SoS engineering technical reports, analysis, briefings, and meeting minutes.

Requirements

  • Four years of relevant experience in Government R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs.
  • Experience in comparative multi-domain engineering analysis, impact assessments, and trade-off studies of security systems.
  • Experience in design, installation, integration, and test support either in a laboratory or direct applications.
  • Experience in security documentation/specification development.
  • Experience in security test planning and test procedures development, test conduct, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience in security-related engineering requirements, performance, and risk analysis.
  • Experience applying security principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate systems.
  • Experience in system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, acquisition, training, and resource management functions.
  • Experience conducting Task Analyses (e.g., Mission Task Analysis, Top-Down Functional Analysis, Critical Task Analysis).
  • Understanding of Naval operations from unit level through operational staff and headquarters planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics with specific coursework in physical science and/or related engineering science.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior DoD/DoN experience with a strong background in DoD systems and DoD networks.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or comparable commercial cloud systems, including IL6 or higher classified cloud environments.
  • Experience with cybersecurity reciprocity and Continuous Authority to Operate (cATO) environments.
  • Experience working with and/or developing in DevSecOps continuous integration environments.
  • Experience with classified information systems, cross-domain interfaces, and various DoD security environments.
