About the position

The Systems Application Engineer - Hardware Design position is a critical role within Schneider Electric, responsible for delivering high-quality engineering designs that meet specified standards, budgets, and schedules. This role involves collaboration with a team to design, install, and service building automation control and security management systems. The engineer will work under the daily supervision of a Project Manager and report to an Engineering Manager, ensuring that all engineering tasks align with project goals and client expectations. In this position, the engineer will be expected to interpret specifications, drawings, and internal cost estimates effectively. They will design hardware submittals, engage in simple programming, and assist in the startup of control equipment. Adherence to engineering standards and basic sequences of operations is crucial, as is the ability to assist the Project Manager in reviewing contract documentation, coordination drawings, and material procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle. The engineer will also lead the resolution of project issues through Requests for Information (RFIs), field surveys, and effective communication with customers. Managing incoming communications from customers, subcontractors, engineers, and project managers is essential to ensure timely responses while balancing multiple work assignments. Responsibilities

  • Understand how to read specifications, drawings, and internal cost estimates

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering field
  • 2+ years of experience in the BAS industry
  • Intermediate knowledge of HVAC, security, or other building or electronic control systems
  • Familiarity with Schneider Electric's software applications.
