About the position

Schneider Electric is seeking a Systems Application Engineer to join our team in Westerville. This role is pivotal in delivering connected technologies that reshape industries, transform cities, and enrich lives. As a Systems Application Engineer, you will be responsible for the construction of low voltage electrical systems, with a focus on HVAC or Security industry applications. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience and a strong understanding of project requirements, including specifications, standards, budgets, schedules, and safety protocols. In this position, you will conduct project activities on-site, coordinating the installation and commissioning of building automation and security management systems. You will work both independently and collaboratively with team members, ensuring that all project activities are executed efficiently. Daily supervision will be provided by a Project Manager or Project Engineer, and you will report directly to the Construction team. Your responsibilities will include becoming a lead field engineering resource on multiple small to medium-sized projects, participating in system startup and commissioning, and gaining customer exposure through meetings. You will be tasked with tracking action items and deliverables from these meetings, providing feedback to the Project Manager, and ensuring timely resolution of any issues. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate competency in cybersecurity paradigms and networking hardware, as well as the ability to develop or modify sequences of operations based on customer discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Become a lead field engineering resource on multiple simultaneous small to medium size projects and perform all field engineering responsibilities from mobilization to closeout.
  • Participate in system startup and commissioning using standard pre-functional checkout processes.
  • Gain customer exposure by attending meetings and report back to the Project Engineer or Project Manager with action items and additional deliverables.
  • Ensure that action items are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Provide field sketches for change order exposure and feedback to the Project Manager.
  • Demonstrate competency in cybersecurity paradigms and networking hardware.
  • Attend customer meetings and develop or modify sequences of operations based on discussions.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in construction of low voltage electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC or Security industry applications.
  • Ability to understand project requirements such as specifications, standards, budgets, schedules, and safety protocols.
  • Experience in coordinating, installing, and commissioning building automation and security management systems.
