About the position

The Systems Architect position at GDIT involves designing and defining system architecture for information technology enterprise systems, specifically supporting the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services Program. The role requires providing subject matter expertise on data-centric concepts and overseeing complex systems design, development, and integration. The architect will also be responsible for coordinating system development, conducting site surveys, and maintaining documentation related to engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing Information technology enterprise systems.
  • Coordinates system development including design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on CENTCOM's Collaborative Partner Environment (CPE) and data-centric mission partner networking.
  • Directs site surveys and develops architecture and plans for deployment, installation, and expansion of CPE.
  • Contributes to completion of major engineering programs and projects.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems.
  • Performs highly complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
  • Oversees highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Performs highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Provides solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
  • Identifies, plans, installs, and maintains mission command applications and capabilities on CPE required to support CENTCOM activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a focus in communication or a related field of study.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance required.
  • Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification.
