About the position

SAIC is seeking a proven Senior Systems Cloud Engineer to join the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency (ECMA) Cloud Enterprise Technology Services (CETS) program. This role presents an exciting opportunity to evaluate and potentially re-invent how the Army delivers IT services while leveraging data and analytics to meet mission requirements. The CETS program provides Information Technology services and technical subject matter expertise (SME) for the Army ECMA, supporting the overall strategy and migration to the cARMY environment, which meets Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level (IL) 6 standards. As a Senior Systems Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering support to the warfighting mission through cutting-edge cloud application migration and business process refinement for the US Army. This position is contingent upon contract award, which is expected in February 2025. It is a hybrid role, requiring candidates to be local to the Fort Belvoir, VA area, as they must be able to be on-site when needed. Relocation assistance may be provided. The responsibilities include designing and implementing IT systems that require the integration of diverse and complex components. This involves creating problem statements, defining operational requirements, researching and modeling system architecture, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring the logical conversion of requirements into total systems solutions that consider technical, schedule, and cost constraints. You will perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications. Additionally, you will provide detailed information for the selection and implementation of techniques and tools to meet business needs, including capacity requirements, facility requirements, data storage, backup, monitoring, operations systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation. This role requires applying advanced technical principles and contributing to the development of new principles and concepts, participating with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives, and making decisions on administrative or project work matters to ensure effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement IT systems that integrate diverse and complex components.
• Create problem statements and define operational requirements for system integration.
• Research and model system architecture and configuration.
• Conduct cost analysis and estimation for system solutions.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and requirements allocation.
• Translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Provide detailed information for selection and implementation techniques and tools.
• Ensure system availability and integrity monitoring, validate security and configuration compliance, and protect sensitive data.
• Serve as an organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs.
• Act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
• 10 years of experience designing and implementing information management systems.
• 3 years of experience in product development, requirements generation, and testing methodologies within the past 5 years.
• 3 years of experience in development, implementation, and administration of multi-tenant, enterprise web-based solutions within the past 5 years.
• 3 years of experience with commercial cloud service providers in a Linux and Windows multi-tenant environment within the past 5 years.
• Must have a Secret clearance.
• Must have one of the following certifications: CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
