About the position

As a Systems Control Analyst at Fastenal, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the processes of our production systems within our distribution center located in Denton, TX. This part-time position is designed for energetic, team-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and optimize our automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), which include both mini load and unit load systems. This entails ensuring that these systems operate efficiently to meet production deadlines and support overall operations. In this role, you will monitor the efficiency and functionality of the automated systems, ensuring a seamless flow of products from the ASRS to downstream departments. You will analyze system performance and statistical patterns to identify opportunities for optimization, thereby enhancing the productivity of picking operations throughout the distribution center. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, as is compliance with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations. You will also participate in various activities and programs aimed at achieving the company's health, safety, and sustainability objectives. Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the efficiency and function of the automated systems and ASRS
  • Maintaining the flow of product from the ASRS to departments downstream
  • Analyzing system and statistical patterns and recognizing ways for optimization
  • Supporting picking operations throughout the distribution center
  • Maintaining the cleanliness/organization of work area
  • Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
  • Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
  • Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

Requirements

  • Proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented
  • Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
  • Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
  • Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed
  • Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
  • Ability to lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
