About the position

The Systems Design Engineer will be responsible for developing conveyor system layouts under the guidance of the Lead Project Engineer and Project Manager. This role involves applying engineering principles to industrial layout and design, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and collaborating with project teams to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop conveyor system layouts under the direction of the Lead Project Engineer and Project Manager.
• Maintain a working knowledge of customer standards and equipment requirements.
• Apply engineering theory and principles to industrial layout and design problems.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, or drawings.
• Research and review customer specifications to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project engineers, project managers, and customers.
• Establish an engineering design plan and schedule with the Project Engineer.
• Ensure design compliance with client and customer standards.
• Conduct site surveys at customer facilities to document as-built conditions.
• Utilize AutoCAD and/or Inventor software to create and edit designs.
• Develop general arrangement drawings and mechanical installation detail drawings.
• Specify components and materials required for designs.
• Prepare specifications, designs, or sketches for machines and components.
• Check drawings and provide feedback to the design team.
• Make drawing corrections and revisions as needed.
• Report on drawing status regularly to maintain project schedule.
• Prepare drawing packages and transmittals for customer reviews.

Requirements

• Experience in Systems engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Strong understanding of conveyor systems and material handling.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with industrial layout and design.
• Familiarity with project management principles.
