About the position

The Systems Development Engineer position at AWS focuses on building and enhancing the infrastructure for Generative AI and Machine Learning servers. This role involves designing, delivering, and operating AWS cloud offerings that enable high performance and scalability in AI/ML workloads. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with engineers across the company to solve complex architectural problems and improve server systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency in cloud computing technology.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers across the company to deliver next-generation AWS platforms.
• Solve complex architectural problems and proactively identify deficiencies in systems.
• Write tactical code to address issues before they impact customers.
• Decompose complex server system problems into manageable tasks and lead their delivery.
• Drive high quality and reliability into new designs for AWS accelerated server solutions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience.
• 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems.
• Experience programming with modern languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Experience with modern technology devices in storage, network, and memory, as well as various interface standards and protocols.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java.
• Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum methodology.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with validation of hardware, software, firmware, and drivers.
