About the position

As a Systems Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will focus on systems analysis for software development projects, particularly in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies. This role involves performing full life cycle systems engineering tasks and leading small to medium engineering development teams, contributing to innovative advancements in aerospace technology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V).
  • Work as a team member in the development of new mathematical algorithms for software products.
  • Provide engineering expertise in the area of complex mathematics, design analysis, simulation, and system performance testing.
  • Serve as Technical Leader of small to medium engineering development teams.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field, or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other Engineering related discipline.
  • Prior experience as a systems analyst/system engineer, developing system models and simulations, developing complex algorithmic solutions in a tool such as MATLAB.
  • Experience with Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems.
  • Experience with radar sensor integration, track filtering and track management techniques and algorithms.
