About the position

The Systems Engineer (SE) position at Arcfield focuses on integrating business systems to support telecommunications systems for the Intelligence Community. The role involves analyzing and improving current business processes, overseeing the transition to new systems, and ensuring efficient operation of voice-related services. The SE will work with various technologies and must possess strong analytical skills to develop solutions that meet customer requirements while adhering to technical and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, document, and evaluate current business processes to recommend improvements.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of replacement systems for telecommunications.
  • Develop and oversee a transition plan to new systems with minimal business impact.
  • Install software, run database queries, troubleshoot software, and write shell scripts and SQL queries.
  • Develop security accreditation documentation and obtain accreditation for new systems.
  • Develop and test interfaces to other systems.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10-12 years of experience with a BS, 8-10 years with an MS, or 5-7 years with a PhD.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills for creating original concepts and theories.
  • Ability to convert customer requirements into total systems solutions considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Experience with functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, and requirements allocation.
  • Knowledge of engineering science and technology applications.
  • Experience with activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, and performance measurement techniques.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with both Linux and Windows server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and other database technologies.
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Shell Scripting.
