About the position

As a Systems Engineer specializing in Cyber Security at American Integrity Insurance, you will play a crucial role in managing and monitoring the company's infrastructure and system installations. This includes overseeing configurations, testing, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security. You will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity measures that protect the company's information systems and data from potential threats. Collaboration with senior team members will be essential as you integrate security solutions into the existing infrastructure, assisting in threat monitoring and incident response support. Your responsibilities will also include contributing to the development, updating, and enforcement of security policies and procedures, as well as participating in security audits and risk assessments. You will work closely with team members to address any security findings and enhance the overall security awareness of the organization. Implementing and maintaining backups, security, and redundancy strategies will be part of your daily tasks, along with identifying potential issues and implementing effective solutions. In addition, you will craft custom scripts to increase automation for IT processes, enabling faster and smarter business operations while implementing analytics. Communication with stakeholders to identify requirements and implement solutions in a service development cycle will be a key aspect of your role. You will utilize expert-level administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure high availability and appropriate resource management. Standardizing and automating processes while monitoring them using scripting technology will be part of your responsibilities. You will install, configure, and patch operating systems, software, and hardware components, ensuring that all design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks are clearly documented. Conducting high-level root-cause analysis for service interruptions and establishing preventive measures will also be part of your duties. You will create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions, overseeing the overall backup strategy and daily operations for secure backups and restore testing. Your role will require you to manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure to align with company guidelines and established standard operating procedures. You will ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability, plan and implement system automation for increased efficiency, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables within organizational guidelines, policies, and procedures. Additionally, you will deal with work process optimization methods and risk management tools in various projects to meet stakeholder requirements. After-hours support on a rotational "on-call" basis and working "off-hours" as needed will also be expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or years of experience in a similar position.
  • Two (2) to Five (5) Years of technology and/or IT experience.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • Experience as a Systems Engineer, preferably with a focus on Cybersecurity.
  • Property and casualty industry experience preferred.
  • Identity Access Management (IAM) knowledge.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessments, patching servers and devices, and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR).
  • PowerShell scripting knowledge.
  • Strong Active Directory knowledge with proficiency in GPO creation/troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019, & 2022 environments and applications.
  • Experience with AWS, AWS Workspaces, Azure, Entra ID and MS Exchange Online.
  • Experience with Microsoft MECM, Deployment Toolkit, WSUS, SharePoint, SQL, and VMWare.
  • Experience with SolarWinds and other network/systems monitoring tools preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, relating to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment and to provide assistance, instruction and training.
  • Ability to focus, execute and to provide excellent customer service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications such as MSCE, MCSA, CCNA, CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ preferred but not required.
