About the position

BAE Systems, a leading prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Defense, is seeking experienced Data Analysts to join our technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This role is integral to our mission of transforming data into actionable intelligence and providing engineering, integration, and sustainment support for critical military platforms and systems. The Data Analysts will work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, delivering enterprise data analysis services that focus on performance and outages. This program utilizes modern technology solutions that operate both on customer premises and through remote Cloud services. As a Data Analyst, you will collaborate closely with customers in the field, providing insights and analysis that are crucial for operational success. Your expertise will be essential in determining key performance indicators (KPIs) for various systems and applications, ensuring that our clients can effectively monitor and manage their data environments. You will also be responsible for utilizing data analytic tools to create custom queries, visualizations, and dashboards that facilitate informed decision-making. The position requires a strong background in IT enterprise data, with a focus on identifying and resolving issues. You will engage with various cloud and on-premises system configurations and utilize ticketing systems such as JIRA and ServiceNow to track work and log potential threats and issues. Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise data analysis services regarding performance and outages.
  • Work with customers in the field to deliver data analysis solutions.
  • Utilize data analytic tools to create custom queries, visualizations, and dashboards.

  • Engage with various cloud and on-premises system configurations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of experience in data analysis.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with IT enterprise data to determine issues.
  • Proficiency with data analytic tools for creating custom queries, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Experience determining key performance indicators (KPIs) for systems and applications.
  • Familiarity with various cloud and on-premises system configurations.
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA and ServiceNow.

Nice-to-haves

  • Splunk certification.
  • Strong background with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security.
  • Ability to interpret, modify, and create scripts using Python or Shell.
