About the position

The Systems Engineer - G/ATOR Integration & Testing position at Technology Service Corporation (TSC) is a critical role that supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. This position is based in Dahlgren, VA, and is focused on leading the design and production of current and future radar systems. The successful candidate will engage in technology developments, technology insertions, prototyping, and technology demonstrations that are essential for a mission-critical and highly visible new program. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of complex radar system engineering, design, analysis, and sensor software development. In this position, the engineer will be responsible for performing detailed and complex calculations, as well as applying knowledge of practices and principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts. This includes evaluating specifications and performing system integration tasks. The engineer will also be expected to formulate opinions and make decisions regarding the performance of engineering tasks associated with the radar/sensor program or project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly in mechanical, electrical, computer, or electronics engineering, and will possess a minimum of four years of industry and/or Department of Defense (DoD) experience. A secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required for this role, ensuring that the engineer can work on sensitive projects that are vital to national security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and production of current and future radar systems.
  • Support technology developments, insertions, prototyping, and demonstrations for a new program.
  • Perform complex radar system engineering, design, analysis, and sensor software development.
  • Formulate opinions and decisions regarding engineering tasks associated with radar/sensor programs.
  • Conduct detailed calculations and assess advanced radar systems concepts and specifications.
  • Perform system integration tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, computer, or electronics engineering; acceptable majors also include mathematics, computer science, or physics.
  • A minimum of 4 years of industry and/or DoD experience (2 years with an accredited master's degree).
  • Experience with G/ATOR system.
  • Active secret clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in performing detailed calculations necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts.
  • Knowledge of practices and principles for system integration.
