About the position

The Systems Engineer position at BAE Systems involves providing system engineering support for large-scale systems and major system elements. The role requires expertise in architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, and testing, with a focus on secure systems engineering. This hybrid position allows for a flexible work environment, balancing onsite and remote work, and is crucial for supporting the company's mission to protect those who protect us.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall system engineering expertise in architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design, and implementation or testing for the program.
• Develop detailed system architecture/concept of operations briefings, generate systems requirements, and develop other system documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
• Interface with software development, testing, integration, deployment, and sustainment.

Requirements

• Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for a Degree.
• At least eight (8) years of systems engineering experience in system design, requirements development, and analysis for large integrated systems.
• Experience with programs encompassing system architecture, requirements analysis, process execution, and evaluation.
• Solid understanding of secure systems engineering and development.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Commitment to adopting and adhering to best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Model based systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of software engineering and development, software testing, and software documentation.
• GEOINT experience.
