About the position

The Systems Engineer I position at Fidelis Technologies involves managing system requirements and contributing to the development of systems engineering documentation. The role is crucial for ensuring the delivery of production systems that align with defined architectures, particularly within the Department of Defense framework. The position offers opportunities for telework and is part of a growing team dedicated to making a difference in technology and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architectures.
  • Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans and Requirements specifications.
  • Assist with the development of system requirements and allocation to hardware, software, and personnel components.
  • Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board meetings and design reviews.
  • Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on operational considerations.
  • Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystems.
  • Generate alternative system concepts and design solutions.
  • Define methods and evaluation criteria for verifying systems against their requirements.
  • Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and fulfill functional analysis.
  • Review and provide input to program and contract work breakdown structures and integrated master plans.
  • Participate in interface definition and design changes throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements.
  • Establish and gain approval of system definitions under development.
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
