We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer II supporting one of our premier programs in the business unit. This role will utilize and grow your knowledge with regards to clarification of requirements, system engineering analyses, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification. This position is onsite in Aurora, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical analyses and define how the system works creating use cases
  • Decompose requirements, define system interfaces and help determine how requirements will be validated and verified by the test team
  • Provide engineering support for the execution of a portion of the programs test program including test processes and baseline definition, test architecture design, verification, and validation
  • Support regression testing across deliverable releases to the program baseline
  • Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development; requirements management; functional analysis/synthesis; interface definition and control; verification and validation
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Development experience on a government contract
  • Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions
  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Planning
  • Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
  • Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements databases
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g.: Python)
