About the position

The Systems Engineer II position at Raytheon involves supporting a premier program by utilizing and expanding knowledge in system engineering analyses, requirements definition, and validation processes. The role focuses on technical analyses, requirement decomposition, interface definition, and providing engineering support for testing processes, all aimed at ensuring the system meets its operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical analyses and define how the system works creating use cases.
  • Decompose requirements, define system interfaces, and help determine how requirements will be validated and verified by the test team.
  • Provide engineering support for the execution of a portion of the program's test program including test processes and baseline definition, test architecture design, verification, and validation.
  • Support regression testing across deliverable releases to the program baseline.
  • Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation.
  • Experience with Agile and/or DevSecOps development methods.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Development experience on a government contract.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Planning.
  • Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.).
  • Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements databases.
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment.
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g., Python).
