About the position

The Systems Engineer III role at Amentum involves maintaining the operational status of the National Security Innovation Network, focusing on the application of systems engineering principles throughout the systems lifecycle. This position requires collaboration with various government agencies and project teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the technical integrity of deliverables. The role also includes mentoring subordinate staff and managing customer expectations as the on-site company representative.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems lifecycle phases: concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement.
• Interact with ICON project teams regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
• Communicate with other Technical Direction Plan (TDL) project personnel, Government stakeholders, and senior executives.
• Responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288.
• Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, such as Systems Engineering Plans, initial capability documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documents.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to subordinate project and Team ManTech staff members.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as product managers and developers.
• Provide technical representation at meetings and consultations with clients or their representatives.
• Manage customer expectations as the on-site company representative.
• Maintain strong attention to detail and a positive attitude while working as a cohesive team member and independently.
• Interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful way.
• Multi-task efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams in a cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Demonstrated experience with SysML tools.
• Demonstrated experience with digital Knowledge Management and Maintenance Management Systems as a power user.
• A self-starter, willing to work independently and take complete ownership of complex problems.
• Demonstrated ability in interfacing with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with poly.
• A Bachelor's degree in an IT related field.
• At least 5 years demonstrated experience developing, researching, designing, implementing, testing, and evaluating software and systems.
• IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• DoD 8570 Fully Compliant with formal Computing Environment certification (i.e. CCNA, CCNP, VCP-CTA, VCP-DCV, VCP-NX, Microsoft, Linux, etc.)
• Demonstrated skills and expertise in SQL/XSQL Server Administration, Microsoft O/S and security, Information Assurance, IP Data Networking, and Vulnerability Assessment product engineering and design.
• Currently active process improvement certification (e.g., Certified CMMI Associate, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above, PMI PMP, ITIL, etc.)
