About the position

The Systems Engineer, Intermediate position at MITRE involves working collaboratively with experts to develop and analyze systems engineering designs and execution using Model-Based Engineering (MBE) methodologies. The role focuses on supporting project teams in creating deliverables for MITRE sponsors, generating artifacts, models, and visualizations, and assisting in knowledge management and research efforts to enhance the MBE capability disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze systems engineering design and execution using MBE methodologies.
  • Support project teams in creating deliverables for MITRE sponsors.
  • Generate artifacts, models, and visualizations for internal and sponsor use.
  • Assist MITRE experts with MBE knowledge management and research efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2 years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related disciplines.
  • Experience in early lifecycle engineering, including eliciting, tracing, and managing use cases, requirements, and systems architectures.
  • Ability to build and assess systems engineering and architecture models in SysML, UML, and/or UAPF.
  • Experience using MBSE tools such as DOORs, iGrafix, Cameo/MSOSA, Rhapsody, or Simulink.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Must have current and active SECRET clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related disciplines.
  • Experience in full lifecycle engineering including test and integration, and deployment and sustainment.
  • Expert use of iGrafix, Cameo/MSOSA, Rhapsody, or another architecture tool.
  • Expert use of SysML.
  • Ability to work in MatLab, STK, AFSIM, and/or Simulink.
  • Expert use of UAF, UPDM, and other architecture frameworks.
