About the position

The Sr Systems Engineer position at First Division Consulting is designed to support the Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier at Ft. Belvoir, VA. This role involves managing systems engineering activities, translating military operational requirements into system performance specifications, and providing expert advice on critical programs and technologies. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic team environment, contributing to mission-critical support and ensuring the integration of engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage systems engineering activities including requirements analyses, functional analyses, design solutions formulation, systems analysis and control, and generation and maintenance of systems architecture products.
• Apply system engineering principles to translate quantified needs into system performance parameters and identify system configuration.
• Formulate and issue systems engineering documents, processes, procedures, and milestones.
• Provide expert advice affecting critical programs and technologies as a subject matter expert.
• Perform top-level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Translate military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance specifications.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, and system interface requirements.
• Participate in post-awards, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as the project engineer and/or technical expert.
• Evaluate design efforts to ensure integration of all engineering disciplines and adequacy of analyses performed.
• Review test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs.
• Review and evaluate system performance against specification requirements and monitor field performance.
• Initiate engineering change proposals and conduct physical and functional configuration audits.
• Review program management documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content.

Requirements

• Equivalent or experience commensurate with DAWIA Level III SPRDE certification.
• MS in Systems Engineering or Systems Management and 20 years of relevant experience.
• Broad experience and recognition in the Engineering community to lead engineering efforts independently.
• Ability to serve as a consultant and mentor on Systems Engineering matters.
• Evaluate and establish innovative engineering strategies based on past programs.
• Identify issues and brief PM on possible courses of action and their impact.
• Secret clearance is required.
