About the position

The Systems Engineer position is responsible for providing support to various business technology products and services, including both hardware and software. The role involves tracking support instances through IT ticketing systems and requires a proactive attitude. The engineer will work onsite at the office or client locations, ensuring effective IT support and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple IT environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Desktop OS
  • Setup of new laptops/PCs and install/upgrade of standard software applications
  • Provide Level 2 Help Desk Support
  • Install new software releases, system upgrades, patches, etc.
  • Willing to be on call in rotation with other engineers
  • Work directly with Sales to work on complex design for customer presentations
  • Travel to customer sites

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Good diagnosis skills
  • 2+ years experience working on a help desk or in support
  • Experience managing IT security
  • Experience automating tasks within infrastructure to ensure a better customer experience
  • Customer service mindset and professionalism throughout all interactions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory, O365, and SharePoint
  • Networking skills including configuring/troubleshooting/deploying (SonicWall/Ruckus/Cisco/Unifi)
  • Familiarity with Networking protocols (DHCP, DNS, VLANS)
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012 and up and Windows 7 and up
  • VMWare and Hyper-V experience is preferred but not required

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, any Microsoft Administration Certs are all preferred but not required
