As a mixed-signal audio Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of low power mixed-signal data converter ICs specifically designed for portable audio applications. Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the Marketing Requirements Document and develop detailed Design and Test Specifications. This position requires close collaboration with customers as well as internal teams including design, applications, validation, marketing, and product-test organizations. You will be expected to define system and performance requirements, feature sets, and architecture definitions for complex IC designs that involve digital audio converters (ADC/DAC) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP). In this role, you will need to consider various product requirements such as customer specifications, digital and analog process technologies, packaging options, and design/system constraints. You will propose viable solutions based on these considerations. Effective communication of ideas and specifications to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential, as you will be responsible for authoring, reviewing, and updating design specifications (datasheets) and validation test plans. You will also participate in architecture reviews, IC-level design reviews, and board-level design reviews alongside design engineering, applications, validation, and product test engineers. Conducting thorough competitive analysis and participating in industry conferences and forums will be part of your responsibilities to ensure device compatibility with adopted standards. The position requires you to manage competing customer and project-related priorities autonomously, and you should expect to travel approximately 2 to 5 weeks per year, both domestically and internationally, to interface directly with customers.
