About the position

The Mid-Level Systems Engineer at V2X will support the execution of Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) development programs for the Navy. This role involves working closely with Navy customers to develop new capabilities, define gaps, and create detailed project specifications and schedules. The position is critical in ensuring the successful integration of systems engineering practices within the research and development of autonomous aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) development research and development (R&D) programs.
• Assist the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) with program-level/cross-project technical guidance.
• Represent the program in interactions with numerous stakeholders and technical exchange forums.
• Assess technical risk and develop mitigation alternatives; tailor engineering standards and controls for appropriate oversight of technology efforts.
• Project and define specific tasking for Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) and University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) efforts.
• Project long-range (15+ year) capability gaps and technical road maps.
• Interact with various Department of Defense (DoD) Science and Technology (S&T) organizations to identify initiatives addressing capability gaps; create and track project technical transition criteria.
• Provide modeling, simulation, and analysis support, along with other technical support duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) or more years of experience with DoD research and development (R&D) procurement.
• Experience and working knowledge of System of Systems Engineering, modeling, simulation, analysis, demonstration and test, and Joint Service interaction/leveraging of Joint Service efforts and S&T insertion processes.
• Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
