About the position

The Systems Engineer Senior position at GDIT focuses on supporting the DCGS-A Mobile system, which is part of the tactical Intelligence Family of Systems. This role involves delivering tailored solutions to complex problems, ensuring the operational readiness of software interfaces, and maintaining the integrity of both Linux and Windows operating systems. The position emphasizes the importance of user experience and career growth within a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Initialize, place into operation, and troubleshoot the software interfaces of specific C5ISR communication systems.
• Assist with software installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance of DCGS-A family of systems.
• Responsible for backup and disaster recovery of Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Regularly perform software, hardware, and network troubleshooting and problem identification and resolution.
• Assist with remote system administration software, including troubleshooting and installation.
• Assist Information Assurance staff with all documentation required for accreditation and associated directives and regulations.
• Participate in special projects as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in a computer-related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field (2 years of additional work experience may substitute for an A.A./A.S. Degree).
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Servers, RHEL Servers, VMWare Servers, Puppet, and Windows client software, including patching, upgrading, and maintaining.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI Poly if required.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience with DCGS-A support (35T/353T).
• Understanding of networking principles and system network configuration.
