About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer will research and analyze engineering requirements to develop operational concepts and top-level designs. This role involves leading the design and implementation of systems, software, and hardware, ensuring they meet performance and operational requirements. The engineer will also be responsible for testing products against these designs and managing program risks to minimize costs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead engineer directing and coordinating the work of other engineering or technical staff.
• Review contract requirements and program specifications to evaluate technical requirements.
• Analyze operational and performance requirements to conceptualize top-level design approaches.
• Identify and evaluate interface requirements between hardware and software.
• Perform value engineering trade studies to determine optimum design solutions.
• Develop detailed designs based on top-level requirements and analyses.
• Write software code compliant with design requirements, utilizing languages such as C and FORTRAN.
• Conduct implementation, integration, and acceptance testing of final products.
• Prepare time and cost estimates for project completion.
• Create plans, schedules, and workflow charts for system operations and tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or equivalent.
• Up to 6 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Thorough knowledge of systems engineering principles and training device engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with simulation models and software programming languages.
• Experience with Linux Operating System and computer networking concepts.
